A Pioneer (Amador County) bank was held up at gunpoint Monday afternoon.
No one was injured in the ordeal.
The robbery was at American River Bank, 26395 Buckhorn Ridge Road just after 1 p.m., according to the Amador County Sheriff's Office.
Witnesses said the robber entered the building with what appeared to be a black, semi-automatic pistol. He left with an undisclosed amount of money and ran off on foot to Buckhorn Ridge Road.
The robber was described as white, about 30 years old and clean-shaven. He wore a tan, long-sleeved shirt with the letters HAT over the left chest pocket; tan pants; deck shoes; a tan beanie and sunglasses.
Despite a ground and aerial search with the assistance of a California Highway Patrol helicopter, the man wasn't found.
