Sheriff: Lunch hour rendezvous turns into arrest for Fair Oaks man

A Fair Oaks man is accused of underage sex allegations after he arranged to meet who he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sex, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.

Detectives arrested 48-year-old Timothy Robert Nosal at Auburn's Ashford Park on Tuesday. Sheriff's spokesperson Dena Erwin said Nosal came to the park during his lunch hour to meet the "girl." In reality, the teen was a detective who had been communicating with the suspect for several weeks online.

Erwin said Nosal came to investigators' attention via an online ad he placed, and they communicated with him for several weeks.

Nosal is in Placer County Jail on booking charges of communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual act and attempted lewd and lascivious acts with someone under the age of 14. His bail was set at $100,000.

"If he is arrested for any of that, believe me I have no use for him, especially because he has little girls," said a neighbor who didn't want to be identified.

Neighbors said Nosal has lived in Fair Oaks for nearly a decade and is married with at least three children.

California Department of Fish and Wildlife confirmed Nosal is employed as an environmental scientist in Rancho Cordova, but had no further comment.
