Missing at-risk teen in Sacramento County found safe

UPDATE: Robert Valdovinos has been located and was returned to his home. He was found early Friday morning.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing at-risk 18-year-old man.

Robert Valdovinos was reported missing from the 8200 block of Preston Way in the south Sacramento County area after he walked away from his home around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Valdovinos is described as a Hispanic male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 6-feet tall and 250 pounds. It’s believed he may be wearing a dark green, zip-up hooded sweatshirt. He also has a partial thin beard that extends from his sideburns and connects underneath his chin, the sheriff’s department said.

Valdovinos is autistic and has a diminished mental capacity. Valdovinos is able to go places alone and has taken the bus and ridden on the light rail train in the past. 

Anyone with information as to Valdovinos whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
