Bi-annual Pothole Sweeps Week kicks off in Sacramento County

Winter means rain and rain means potholes.

In an effort to prevent more potholes caused my winter weather, county officials are asking residents to report holes in their neighborhood roads now.

In a press release from Sacramento County officials, Monday was the start of the county's bi-annual Pothole Sweeps Week, an effort by the Sacramento County Department of Transportation to identify and repair potholes throughout the Sacramento region.

The sweep starts in the Arden Arcade community and continues through the remainder of the unincorporated area.

Pothole sweeps are performed twice each year: in late spring to repair potholes caused by inclement weather and in early winter to ready road surfaces for the storm season. Residents are encouraged to report potholes on neighborhood streets by calling 311, 916-875-4311 or report them online.
