Big rig accident on I-5 kills one, stalls traffic

One person is dead and several others are injured in a big rig accident that happened on Interstate 5 just north of Lambert on Wednesday.

The California Highway Patrol said the big rig crossed southbound into the northbound lane after being rear-ended by a vehicle. That vehicle went into the center divider and was engulfed by flames, killing the driver.

The condition of the driver of the big rig is unknown at this time.

Northbound lanes are closed and all traffic is being diverted at Twin Cities Road.
