Abducted child found safe in Livermore after Amber Alert issued

A 4-month-old has been found safe in Livermore after being taken by her father, Michael Lenard Wallin, Tuesday night, out of Santa Clara County, according to the Mountain View Police Department.

The AMBER Alert has been deactivated for Madilyn Wallin, though her father is still outstanding, according to CHP.

Wallin, 45, is described as a white man, standing 6-foot-2, weighing 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. CHP said he was last seen wearing a Golden State Warriors T-Shirt and unknown other clothing. Wallin has full body tattoos, including on the tops of his hands.

The Mountain View Police Department said at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wallin (a resident of Patterson) was meeting with Madilyn's mother at the Residence Inn in Mountain View. During the visit, the child's parents got into a fight and Wallin drove off with Madilyn on his lap. Madilyn's mother was dragged by the car a short distance, but was able to break free and was not seriously injured.

Police said the adult son of Madilyn's mother followed Wallin before being "break-checked," which caused him to hit Wallin's car. Wallin drove off, still with Madilyn in his lap and without a child safety seat in the car.
