We know prices at the pump have gone up because of the new gas tax increase, but Californians are paying the highest gas prices in the U.S.
Besides the gas tax, there is simply more demand in California and nationwide for gas.
"Unfortunately, we've seen some of the highest travel demand this month that we've seen in more than 10 years," said AAA Northern California spokesman Michael Blasky. "So it's not just the tax increase, but it was pretty terrible timing."
So can Californians expect any sort of relief at the pump? Maybe.
Blasky said gas prices could drop after Thanksgiving, but it is hard to predict how prices fluctuate.
