The Main Street Electrical Parade will soon return to Disneyland for a “limited run” 20 years after its twinkling lights last lit up Main Street.
The parade has been lighting up the Kissimmee night skies at Walt Disney World resort for the past six years, according to the Disney Parks Blog, and will end its run there Oct. 9. The parade’s California farewell tour will begin early in 2017.
For those who have been pining for the dazzling glow of the parade’s estimated half a million lights, a trip might be in order, and a game plan needed.
To his knowledge, there is no scientific determination of the theme park’s best rides, said Christopher Spitzer, a Disneyland Resorts spokesman. However, he was willing to go on record that his favorite ride is It’s a Small World After All, which some find boring, but to him is “classic.”
He also was willing to tout a few of the latest Disneyland highlights, among them, Soarin’ Around the World, an expansion of the extremely popular Soarin’ Around California; and other “E-ticket attractions” like Space Mountain and the Frozen live stage show.
Tower of Terror will soon shut down, to be replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy Mission BREAKOUT! next summer.
However, there are plenty of blogs and news outlets willing to dip their toes into the subjective waters of best Disneyland rides, among them, the L.A. Times (which is clearly wrong, because it doesn’t include Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride):
- Indiana Jones Adventure
- Mountain Range
- Haunted Mansion
- Remember Dreams Come True Fireworks Show
- Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
- Jungle Cruise
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Peter Pan’s Flight
- Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough
- Davey Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
Spitzer said an end date had not been announced for the Main Street Electrical Parade.
