Missing couple last heard from 'stuck in snow'

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Department is searching for a couple who went missing on Sunday.

The department said husband and wife Rory and Susan Holloter were last seen around 9 a.m. on Saturday, and were last heard from at 12:40  p.m. on Sunday stating they were stuck in the snow.

The Holloters are from the town of Loma Rica, about 15 miles north of Marysville.

Search and rescue ground crews have been set out in the rural area of Wentworth Springs and Ice House Roads, west of Lake Tahoe, where officials believe the man and woman went missing. The department also said a California Highway Patrol helicopter has been sent out to search from the air.

The couple is described as being in their 60s, deputies said. They were last seen driving a white Dodge pickup truck.

This is a developing story. Refresh for more details as they come in.
