More than just wine country is burning in California

Compared to its more famous wine-country counterparts, California's Mendocino County is feeling left out. While the world watches counties like Napa and Sonoma burn, Mendocino feels like no one is watching their own struggles with wildfires.

Resident Sonya Campbell who lost her house to the fires said Saturday that they have been hit just as hard as anyone and she doesn't understand why they aren't getting any attention.

Thousands in Mendocino County evacuated from their homes. Hundreds lost them. Eight people were killed, including a 14-year-old boy.

But many in the small town of Redwood Valley say they're happy to be ignored, that their community is self-reliant and resilient.
