Deputies: Argument turns deadly in North Highlands, suspect sought

NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. – The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is looking for a man suspected of fatally stabbing another man in North Highlands Thursday night.

Sheriff's Sergeant Lisa Bowman said deputies were dispatched to the area of Cornelia Way and Bruce Way around 8:10 p.m. in response to a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, the deputies found a 33-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

Deputies performed lifesaving measures at the scene until medical personnel arrived and transported him to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

An ensuing investigation carried out by sheriff's department homicide detectives determined the stabbing happened during an argument between the victim and a man described as black, 5'9" tall and weighing 160 pounds. Deputies had not located the man as of Friday morning, Bowman said.

The identity of the victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, after notification has been made to his next of kin.
