Teen dies in Antelope motorcycle crash

An 18 year old died when his motorcycle crashed into a tree Tuesday in an Antelope neighborhood.

California Highway Patrol Officer Lizz Dutton said Alex Selyuzhitskiy of Roseville was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a teenage girl, was injured in the crash and taken to the hospital where she was listed in critical condition.

CHP Officer Chad Hertzell said Selyuzhitskiy may have been travelling at up to 100 miles per hour before he hit the tree.

The crash happened at about 1:50 p.m. near the intersection of Watt Avenue and Blackfoot Way.

Dutton said officers closed both the northbound and southbound lanes on Watt Avenue between Blackfoot Way and Navaho Drive to clear and investigate the scene. It is unknown when the roads will open to traffic again.

This is the second fatal motorcycle crash in the Sacramento area in two days. A man died Monday when his motorcycle crashed into a car.
