Couple lost near Lake Tahoe reunited with family

Missing Loma Rica couple Rory and Susan Holloter were reunited with family Monday afternoon after a two-day ordeal lost in just west of Lake Tahoe.

The husband and wife had been missing near Ice House were found alive after being missing in the snow since last Saturday.

Crews found the couple in the Georgetown area in "higher elevation," they said.

"We could not be more ecstatic to see this heartfelt reunion with Rory, Susan and their family," sheriff's officials wrote in a statement.

Officials went on to thank Placer, Amador and Douglas county sheriff's offices for the additional search and rescue volunteers who helped find the Holloters.

Rory and Susan were last seen Saturday morning, and last heard from Sunday afternoon, saying they had gotten stuck in snow.

Their last known whereabouts had been reported near Wentworth Springs and Ice House roads, west of Lake Tahoe.

Sheriff's officials report the couple was found inside their car. Officials also noted the couple is "high spirited."
