Detectives asking for public's help with Oak Park homicide

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in regard's to a recent homicide in Oak Park.

According to the department, 25-year-old Phillip Porraz was found shot dead in the driveway of an Oak Park home at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17. Sheriff's detective say the suspect is a Hispanic male with dark hair, 25-35 years old.

The department has released a photo of a vehicle they believe to have been at the scene of the crime. The vehicle is described as a red or burgundy 2004-2007 Toyota Highlander.

When deputies got to the home, they tried saving Porraz, but Sacramento Metro Fire officials pronounced him dead when they arrived.

Detectives believe the suspects was a passenger inside an the vehicle. The vehicle stopped in the roadway, the suspect exited the passenger side of the car armed with a handgun, approached the victim and fired several shots. The suspect then fled on 44th Street in the same vehicle. There is still no known motive at this time.
