Northern California native Jon Pardi took home some pretty impressive hardware at this year's Country Music Awards in Nashville.
Pardi, who grew up in Dixon and Winters, won New Artist of the Year on Wednesday night.
The win comes after Pardi's mother told ABC10's Becca Habegger about her son's California roots Tuesday. Shelly Harrington said while he may be hitting the big-time now, his love of music began three decades ago.
"He loves the mountains and the country, he really does," she said. "There's nothing fake about him. What you see is what you get. Those cowboy boots have been on his feet since he was 2."
