An El Dorado Union High School District bus involved in a head-on crash with a vehicle Thursday left five people injured, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Quinn Cuthbertson

The crash happened around 6:50 a.m. on Grizzley Flat Rd. in Somerset.

The bus was heading to Union Mine High School when the two vehicles collided, Cuthbertson said.

Three students and the bus driver were injured in the collision, according to a release from the Union High School District. Each was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but none of their injuries were classified as serious.

The male driver of the vehicle that collided with the bus was arrested on suspicion of DUI according to Cuthbertson.
