EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. - A brewery and a grassroots trail advocate are uniting in a fundraising effort to provide outdoor enthusiasts access to new terrain in El Dorado Hills.
El Dorado Hills Trails, who strives to develop new trails, trail culture and trail awareness in the El Dorado Hills area, are proposing the development of a new, one-mile trail that would connect El Dorado Hills Blvd. to the Promontory Village, as well as a half-mile skills loop for off-road cyclists of varying ability.
"There are some great, fantastic trails," El Dorado Hills Trails founder Michael O'Neill explained. "The problem is they're segments. They're not connected to a whole lot."
To help fund the effort, El Dorado Hills' Mraz Brewing Company, is selling a beer and pint glass crafted specifically for the project. The aptly named EDH Trails Amber Ale is being sold in the pint glass for $10, with $6 of the proceeds going to the effort.
"It's nice to be part of non-profits that are really local and personal," Mraz Brewing owner Mike Mraz said.
