Overnight El Dorado Hills standoff ends peacefully

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. – Sheriff's deputies and SWAT officers worked through the night to convince a man to leave an El Dorado Hills apartment unit.

An El Dorado Hills County sheriff's deputy on scene said the standoff began around 8 p.m. Thursday at the El Dorado Village Apartments.

The man, a parolee with outstanding warrants, had barricaded himself inside the unit with a woman and refused to come out. Neither the man or the woman were the legal tenants of the apartment, according to the deputy.

After hours of negotiations, deputies contacted the man via phone and he gave himself up without further incident Friday morning, the deputy said.
