3 arrested in Elk Grove attempted robbery, shooting

SACRAMENTO - What Elk Grove police say was a drug buy turned attempted robbery and shooting has landed three people in jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

The man shot, Alec Fjeldstad, 19, was hospitalized with a gunshot to the abdomen and facial injuries, Officer Chris Trim said.

Fjeldstad was found by emergency responders on the ground by a car in the area of Criollo Court and Haflinger Way just before 8:30 Thursday night.

A search for the shooters led officers to the 5000 block of Fox Trotter Way where three men were taken into custody, Trim said.

On further investigation, Trim said police learned Tiffany Lai, 19, of Elk Grove had arranged to to meet with Fjeldstad to buy a controlled substance. She also allegedly conspired with Elijah Graham, 20, of Sacramento and Avalon Clark, 19, of Elk Grove to rob Fjeldstad at gunpoint, Trim said.

As Lai met with Fjeldstad, Graham and Clark approached with handguns and there was a struggle among the men. Fjeldstad was shot and Graham and Clark fled, Trim said.

Graham and Clark were two of the men detained on Fox Trotter Way.

Trim said officers also located two guns in an Elk Grove home believed used in the shooting as well as additional evidence.
