One person has died in a wrong-way crash involving four cars in Elk Grove.
The Elk Grove Police Department said the crash happened at around 10 p.m. Wednesday night in the area of Elk Grove Boulevard and Wymark Drive.
Police saw a driver traveling the wrong way on a one-way road when the crash happened. Police said the driver of the wrong-way car fled the scene. When police were finally able to confront the driver, the department said the driver resisted arrest. After officers continued to struggle with the driver, a taser was used and they became unresponsive.
Officers tried to give one of the driver CPR, but they later died at an area hospital.
The drivers cause of death is unknown.
Two passengers involved in the crash have been taken to an area hospital.
The names of the victim and the passengers has not been released.
