Police: Elk Grove man in custody after shooting at wife

ELK GROVE – A man was arrested following an early morning standoff in Elk Grove Monday.

Elk Grove police officer Chris Trim said officers were contacted by Kaiser Hospital around 5:35 a.m. after a woman came in with facial injuries.

Officers responded to the 5600 block of Tamarindo Ln. where the woman's husband was located but he refused to exit the home, Trim said.

The man, later identified as 54-year-old Khai Quach, was detained shortly before 7:45 a.m. He was arrested on charges of assault with a firearm, willful cruelty to child, and threaten with intent to terrorize.

Trim said Quach had shot at his wife but missed. An 8 and 13-year-old child were inside the home during the standoff. Neither was injured, according to Trim.
