Police: Woman assaulted by armed intruders in Elk Grove robbery

SACRAMENTO - A woman was injured in a violent home invasion in Elk Grove Wednesday morning, according to police.

Elk Grove police spokesman Christopher Trim said officers were dispatched to a home on the 8800 block of Springhurst Dr. around 7:18 a.m. following a report of three armed suspects who entered the woman's home and stole personal property.

The woman was hit in the face during the incident, Trim said. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Two children, a 10 year old and 1 year old were also inside the home at the time of the invasion. Trim did not say if they were injured.

One of the suspected intruders was described as a black man in his late 20s. He was last seen wearing a gray zip-up sweater.

The second man was described as black, 6 ft. tall, between 20 and 23 years of age. He was last seen wearing a thin, black-red hooded sweatshirt with black sleeves and baggy blue jeans.

Both men were armed with handguns, according to Trim.

The third suspect was described as a white woman wearing a red or orange shirt.

The vehicle used in the incident was described as a mid-2000 silver Nissan Altima with a fin on its rear. Anyone with information on the car or the robbery was encouraged to contact Elk Grove police.
