SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The current Northern California heat wave is expected to peak Thursday.
Temperatures will likely dip heading into the weekend.

Throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, high temperatures are expected to range between 90 and 105 degrees across most inland areas with locally hotter temperatures possible.

The National Weather Service says they expect daily records for the Central Valley and the rest of the interior. A National Weather Service excessive heat warning is in effect until Thursday at 9 p.m.

Two people died this week in Northern California of causes related to the extreme heat wave.

A 72-year-old man and an 87-year-old woman died in San Jose Monday, when temperatures reached 94 degrees.

Residents are advised to avoid heavy activity in the heat and not leave children or pets in vehicles.
