Update: The victim has been identified as 16-year-old Timothy Jeter.
Sacramento Police are investigating an early morning double shooting in Oak Park that left on juvenile dead and one man in the hospital.
The shooting happened near Santa Cruz Way and Broadway just after midnight Friday morning, police said. Officers received calls that a person was lying in the middle of the street after neighbors heard gunfire.
A juvenile and an adult male were injured in the shooting and taken to the hospital.

Sacramento police said the boy died at the hospital from his injuries. The man is in serious but stable condition.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, police say.
Broadway will be closed for several hours from 39th and 42nd streets while police investigate.
