Lake Tahoe fire destroys Deerfield Lodge rooms, displaces dozens

LAKE TAHOE- A South Lake Tahoe fire at Deerfield Lodge destroyed six rooms, five vehicles and displaced 35 people Wednesday at 11:45 p.m. according to South Lake Tahoe spokeswoman Sallie Ross.

Two civilians, who were injured after jumping from their 2nd floor balcony to escape the fire, were transported to Barton Hospital.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Those who were displaced were bused over to Lakeside Inn.

South Lake Tahoe fire was assisted by Cal Fire, Tahoe Douglas Fire and Lake Valley Fire.
