Fatal hit-and-run suspect sought in Lodi

A man riding his bike in the early morning hours of Oct. 5 was reportedly fatally struck by an unknown car in Lodi, and now police are trying to find a suspect.

The man was riding his bike just after 6 a.m., across the Victor Road overpass at Highway 99 when he was struck by the unknown car, Lodi police said.

Security video reportedly showed a truck stop at the location of the collision and then drive away east on Victor Road, according to police.

The bicyclist died at the scene, police said.

The truck and its driver remain unknown, according to police, and now investigators are hoping the public may be able to help.

Police believe the truck may have sustained minor damage to the front end.
