Why did the seal cross the road? We may never know. But thanks to one seal rescued in Thorton, they'll live to swim another day.
San Joaquin Animal Services Officer Evan first discovered the seal after her department received reports that the animal was at Thorton and Peltier Road.
Evans rescued the seal and took it to a team with the rescue group Marine Mammal Rescue of Sausalito, where it was confirmed to be a Northern Fur Seal.
Evans was able to name the seal, wisely choosing "Road Warrior."
We hope "Road Warrior" will be able to return to free waters soon.
