Man impersonated deputy in Manteca Home Depot, stole power tools

Manteca police are asking for the public's help in finding a man who impersonated a sheriff's deputy in a Home Deputy on October 26.

The man stole several power tools after threatening to use pepper spray, according to the Manteca Police Department.

Police describe the man as Hispanic and in his 30s. Police say he was wearing a green sheriff's baseball cap, green long sleeve shirt, tan pants and boots. The suspect was also wearing what appeared to be a bullet proof vest, but he was not carrying a gun and he had no badge exposed.

Police said the suspect might be seen with a black Ford Explorer.

If can identify the suspect, contact Manteca Police Detective Aaron Montoya at (209) 456-8230.
