Man posts photo of fish nearly cut in half by plastic wrapper

A man's viral Facebook photo highlights the devastating effects of litter on the planet.

Adam Turnbull found a Pike growing around a plastic Powerade wrapper in Alberta, Canada, over the weekend, according to his Facebook page.

Turnbull commented on the post, saying the fish was alive when he caught it and "bit and fought as it should." He released the fish after freeing it and it swam away.

"Pick up your garbage," Turnbull said in the Facebook post. "This is a Powerade wrapper which takes up no room in your pocket until you get to a garbage can."

He said the post was meant to raise awareness.
