Youth detained, lockdown lifted at Tracy elementary school

SACRAMENTO – A lockdown at a Tracy elementary school was lifted after police arrested a young boy Wednesday morning.

Tracy Police Lieutenant Cami Ysit said officers responded to a family disturbance at a home on the 8700 block of Shelbourn Dr. and heard what sounded like gunshots.

At 8:05 a.m., the boy ran from the home towards Monticello Elementary School which had already been placed on lockdown, Ysit said.

The boy was detained at the scene and will be arrested after he is medically cleared, according to Ysit.

The lockdown at Monticello Elementary School was lifted around 8:45 a.m.
