Teen injured in Ceres drive-by shooting

SACRAMENTO – A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot in the chest in Ceres Saturday night.

Ceres Police spokesperson Carissa Higginbotham said officers responded to a call of a drive-by shooting at 10:21 p.m. on the 1900 block of Hollister St.

Arriving officers found the shot teen and provided medical aid at the scene. The victim was then transported to a local hospital for the life-threatening wound. His condition was later upgraded to stable, Higginbotham said.

The suspects were described as two men in a brown four-door vehicle, possibly an Acura or Honda.
