Bodies of 2 men found in south Natomas apartment

Police are investigating the shooting deaths of two men whose bodies were found Wednesday in a south Natomas apartment.

The names of the victims have not been released. Police received calls about gunshots at about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of West El Camino Avenue. The bodies of the men were found in a ground floor apartment.

Police said there was no continuing threat to anyone in the area.

"We also know that our investigation has been isolated just to this apartment. There's no other scenes or we're not looking for anyone outstanding," Sacramento police spokesman Officer Doug Morse said.

Police said one of the men appears to have died as a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

"We're looking into the possibility of maybe a murder-suicide," Morse said.

Morse said drugs may have played a part in what happened.

"The possibility of whether narcotic use was a factor in this incident. We also know it does not appear to be a domestic violence incident," Morse said.

Investigators believe the victims were acquainted.
