Two men have been arrested for a shooting at a child's birthday party in Sacramento that left one man dead, and six others injured, including a 7-year-old girl.
Suspects Kelly Thomas, 22, was arrested in New York City last Friday and Orlando Rhinehart, 28, was arrested Tuesday. They are suspected of opening fire on a birthday party gathering at Peregrine Park on Guadalajara Way in Natomas on May 10, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Jacoby James, 29, was fatally shot. The young girl shot was treated at the hospital for her injuries and has recovered.
Security camera photos of the suspect's' gold Ford Taurus ultimately led to their identification and arrests, investigators said. The car was found in Manteca.
Detectives also credited law enforcement in Nevada and Arizona for their assistance.
More arrests are expected, police said.
