Probationer arrested after fleeing officers, standoff at Yolo County residence

Yolo County sheriff’s deputies on Tuesday arrested a probationer who initially removed his ankle monitor and fled from Yolo County probation officers.

At approximately 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, probation officers requested deputies at an address in the 25000 block of County Road 95. The suspect, 36-year-old Charles Monteleone of Woodland, had barricaded himself in a residence, according to the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say contact was made with Monteleone inside the home via cell phone. After a four-hour standoff, the subject was taken into custody without incident.

In addition, while on the perimeter, deputies say they were forced to shoot an “aggressive dog that threatened them” after other options were attempted without success. The dog was immediately rushed to a veterinary hospital and had to be euthanized, officials said.

Monteleone was arrested for a probation violation and resisting arrest.
