Sprint shuttering Rancho Cordova call center, cutting 240 jobs

SACRAMENTO - More than 200 employees at a Sprint customer call center in Rancho Cordova Sacramento were informed of the center's closing Tuesday.

Sprint spokesperson Caroline Semerdjian said the closure is part of company-wide changes Sprints announced in January.

Semerdjian said the approximately 240 call center workers at the Kilgore Road facility were informed they would have a job through Tuesday, March 25 and will be paid through Tuesday, April 1.

Depending on their length of employment with Sprint, Semerdjian said employees may be eligible for additional pay and benefits after their jobs ended.

According to Sprint, the company has had a call center for 31 years in the Sacramento area.
