Regional Transit offering free rides for NCAA Tournament at Golden 1 Center

The Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) is offering a free ride day for the March Madness games on Friday.

So, if you're heading to the Golden 1 Center then the light rail trains providing this free ride service are on the Blue, Green and Gold lines.

A round trip pass for a Golden 1 Center event would typically cost a person $5.50.

The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament is back in Sacramento for the first time in 10 years and SacRT wants riders who are traveling downtown to utilize any of the 21 park-and-ride stations across the Sacramento region.

“We’re thrilled to provide Golden 1 Center guests with a clean, safe and convenient way to get to the arena,” said SacRT General Manager/CEO Henry Li via press release. “SacRT’s park-and-ride stations provide commuters an alternative option to get downtown in-step with the city’s transportation plan.”

“As Sacramento and Golden 1 Center take the national stage, we’re grateful Sacramento Regional Transit has generously offered a Free Ride Day to make sure transportation is a success on a monumental day for the city,” said Kings President Chris Granger via press release.

If you plan on going to the tournament via SacRT then visit GoSacRT.com  or call 916-321-BUSS (2877) for more information.
