Report of woman with gun prompts lockdowns at Roseville schools

SACRAMENTO – Two Roseville schools were placed on lockdown Monday morning after police received a report of a woman with a gun creating a disturbance at Heald College.

No weapon was located. A female student who was acting unusually was detained by an instructor and later taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation. Police said she did not make any direct threats and it is unlikely that she will face charges.

The college, as well as neighboring John Adams Academy were placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

The lockdowns were subsequently lifted.
