Sacramento woman accused of illegal dumping

If you've ever wondered if anyone is ever caught for illegally dumping trash, the answer is yes.

City of Sacramento spokesperson Erin Treadwell said Oksana Lyamin, 26, was arrested Tuesday after a code enforcement officer investigated a tip from a citizen about Lyamin allegedly dumping garbage on Dry Creek Road near Interstate 80 in February.

Sacramento police took Lyamin into custody on the 1100 block of Odonnell Avenue. She was booked into Sacramento County Jail for an illegal dumping misdemeanor and an unrelated, misdemeanor no-bail arrest warrant, Treadwell said.

A new city of Sacramento reward program took effect July 5, offering between $500 and $1,000 for information leading to either a citation or misdemeanor citation for illegal dumping. Tips about violators can be reported to 311.
