California's First Dog Sutter Brown is back home

California's First Dog Sutter Brown is back home.

Governor Jerry Brown's dog fell critically ill Oct. 14 and was being treated at a Sacramento-area hospital

Biopsies revealed that the 13-year-old Pembroke Welsh corgi has an aggressive form of cancer and has limited treatment options, according to a spokesperson for Brown's office.

Veterinarians performed surgery on Sutter but weren't able to remove all the cancerous masses that were found.

First Lady Anne Gust Brown tweeted Monday night, the Capitol's beloved dog had finally left the hospital.

Sutter is expected to live out his days at home with family.
