Father of Baby Justice pleads no contest to infant's death

Woodland resident Frank T. Rees pled no contest Tuesday to three charges in connection to the death of his infant son, Justice Rees, according to the Yolo County District Attorney's Office.

District Attorney Jeff Reisig, trial prosecutors and members of the Sheriff's Office will be holding a press conference this afternoon to discuss the details of the plea agreement.

Rees, 31, pled no contest to felony abusing or endangering the health of a child, involuntary manslaughter and administering a controlled substance to the infant's mother, Samantha Green.

As part of the plea agreement, Rees agreed to serve six years in state prison. If the case had gone to trial and Rees were convicted of all charges, the maximum sentence he could have received is nine years, according to the Yolo County District Attorney's Office.
