SACRAMENTO - I Street Bridge reopened Tuesday morning after being closed for two hours after a man threatened to jump off the bridge said West Sacramento Police Lt. Tod Sockman.
At 5 a.m. Sockman said West Sacramento and Sacramento police officers responded to I Street Bridge for a male subject threatening to jump from the bridge, causing the bridge to be temporarily closed.
At 7:15 a.m. Sacramento Police Department negotiators talked the man off the bridge where he was taken to Yolo County Mental Healthy facility for treatment said Sockman.
According to a Sacramento Fire Department tweet, three boats were also in the water to assist the situation.
West Sacramento Police and Sacramento Police Department's were aided by Sacramento Metro Fire Department, West Sacramento Fire Department, Sacramento Police Department's Negotiators, American Medical Response and Union Pacific Police according to Sockman.
