Missing woman 'feared for her safety'

The last time family heard from 49-year-old Stacy Welsh she told them she feared for her safety.

That was in a July 4 phone conversation with Welsh's mom, Sacramento County sheriff's spokesperson Sgt. Lisa Bowman said. Five weeks later, Welsh still hasn't been in communication with family and that isn't normal.

Bowman said the missing woman's address was unknown but she has previously lived in Orangevale. The last time Welsh's mom saw her daughter was June 16 in the area of K Street in downtown Sacramento.

Welsh was described as white, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has long brown hair and brown eyes.

It isn't like Welch to be out of touch with family and for that reason, she is considered at risk, Bowman said. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Welsh was asked to call the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department at (916) 874-5115.
