New Fix 50 connector ramp closures begin

SACRAMENTO - Beginning Thursday night, there will be more connector ramp closures in connection to the Fix 50 highway project in Sacramento.

The southbound Capital City Freeway (Business 80) connector ramp to westbound Highway 50 will be closed to traffic as well as the westbound 50 off-ramp to 16th street.

The northbound Highway 99 connector ramp to westbound 50 will be reduced to one lane. The alternate route is Hornet Drive off off Highway 50.

The closures are necessitated as Caltrans construction crews begin work on the outer lanes of westbound Highway 50 in the W/X viaduct connector section. Workers completed roadway resurfacing on the westbound inner lanes ahead of schedule so will begin the changeover Thursday about 9 p.m.

The entire Fix 50 project is scheduled to be completed by June 25.
