Sacramento teacher gets 11 years in prison for sexually assaulting minor

A former Sacramento area teacher has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for sexual assault charges involving a child under 14 years old, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.

This year on Oct.19, Eric Echols-Gollas pled no contest to six felony counts of lewd acts against a child under 14 years old. He also pled no contest to one misdemeanor count of "annoying or molesting" a minor.

While employed at Prairie Elementary School in Sacramento between June 1, 2015 and July 24, 2016, Echols-Gollas is said to have sexually abused seven girls.
