Sheriff's investigating home invasion in Yolo County

An investigation is underway as suspects ransacked, stole and assaulted a man inside a home, according to the Yolo County Sheriff's Office.

The incident happened Tuesday morning at approximately 5:20 a.m. as sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the 15000 block of County Road.

When deputies arrived they discovered several suspects had entered a home and physically assaulted a resident who had been asleep. The victim believes there were possibly four or five suspects and said he saw one with a handgun and another with a shotgun.

The suspects ransacked the place and took approximately 600 pounds of processed marijuana before fleeing the scene. Police say that the man does not appear to have been "randomly targeted."
