SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) - Two men convicted of killing a man and his 7-month-old son at a Sacramento drug house have been sentenced to life in prison without parole.

STORY: 2 found guilty of home invasion murders of Sacramento man, baby son

Sacramento Superior Court Judge Patrick Marlette told Donald Ortez-Lucero and Christopher Strong as he issued the sentence on Friday that he hopes they remember the day of the killings while in prison.

Authorities say the men were about to rob the Sacramento drug house when 21-year-old Sean Aquitania pulled up with his son in the backseat to visit a friend.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Ortez-Lucero's handgun went off while he was pistol-whipping Aquitania, and the boy was fatally shot.

Authorities say Aquitania was shot and killed when he ran into the house and attacked the gunmen after determining his son was dead.
