Police: Masked gunmen storm Sacramento restaurant, pistol whip, rob employees

SACRAMENTO – Police are looking for several masked suspects they say stormed a local restaurant, pistol whipped one of the employees and then robbed workers Monday night.

Sacramento police spokesperson Michelle Gigante said the incident happened around 10:15 p.m. at the Golden Corral restaurant on the 7700 block of W. Stockton Blvd.

Officers responded to an activated panic alarm at the restaurant. Upon arrival, police were informed that four to five individuals wearing masks and armed with handguns entered the closed business, pistol whipped an employee and forced him at gunpoint to lead them to the other employees.

The suspects then robbed the employees of cellphones and tip money. Money from the business was also stolen during the heist, Gigante said.

The individuals then fled the building.

Police set up a perimeter and conducted a wide-scale search but could not locate the suspected robbers.

Police resumed their search Tuesday morning. They asked anyone with information to contact the Sacramento Police Department immediately.
