Police: Mother of 3 slain in suspected domestic-violence shooting

SACRAMENTO – A mother of three was found fatally shot in south Sacramento Wednesday morning and police believe her death may be the result of domestic violence.

Hours later, Sacramento police arrested the woman's ex-boyfriend Dameshlo Green, 34. He turned himself over to police for a parole violation, and he was later booked into Sacramento County Jail for homicide, Office Michele Gigante said.

Sacramento police officers responded at the woman's home in the 6800 block of Woodbine Avenue at 4:28 a.m. and found her deceased. Authorities said a gun was recovered at the property.

The woman's three children were inside the home at the time of the shooting. Gigante said Green is the father of one of the children.

Evidence gathered at the scene led investigators to believe the woman knew the shooter and the incident was possibly an act of domestic violence. When Green turned himself into police at 9:34 a.m., detectives questioned him about the shooting and then arrested him, Gigante said.

Police aren't releasing the name of the woman, but said she was 31 years old. Her identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office.
