Police: Sacramento furniture thieves caught in the act

SACRAMENTO - Police say a pair of suspected thieves were caught loading loot into their van Sunday afternoon.

A release from the Sacramento Police Department stated officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at 3:19 p.m. at a furniture store on the 4900 block of Stockton Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found a man and a woman loading property into their truck from an attached shed of the store.

A store employee called to the scene confirmed the individuals did not have permission to take what was being loaded into their truck, according to the report.

Dimarceeo Johnson, 36, and Ashley Callen, 28, were arrested for burglary and conspiracy.

The stolen merchandise was returned to the store.
