Police search for Sacramento shooting suspect

Sacramento police are searching for a man suspected of shooting his girlfriend Saturday afternoon.

The suspect, Joe, is described as a black man in his 20s with tattoos on his face. Police did not have more information on the suspect.

The shooting happened at 1:15 p.m. in a home on the 6300 block of Newkirk Drive in south Sacramento. Joe then loaded his girlfriend in the car and started to drive her to the hospital.

Near the intersection of 58th Street and Broadway, they came across a fire truck. The firefighters took the woman and Joe drove away from the area, police said.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where her condition has stabilized.
